THE CONSTITUTION OF ‘THE PRISONER’S GUARDIAN’
STATEMENT OF INTENT: The main objective of this organization is to provide support for various inmates in Ghanaian prisons.
- Article I: Name of the Organization
The name of the association shall be THE PRISONER’S GUARDIAN, hereby referred to as TPG.
- Article II: Nature and character of the organization. 1.TPG is a non –partisan, non-governmental and self-help organization. 2. A branch of the organization may be formed in the towns or villages in the country.
3. The organization and the group in the towns and villages shall function within the laws of Ghana ensuring its members the rights and freedom of citizens in all their activities.
- Article III: Aims/Objectives
Providing physical needs like food items, clothing and footwear for inmates in Ghanaian prisons.
2. Assisting in the delivery of good health care in Ghanaian prisons by supplying drugs that are in demand by the prisons.
3. Contributing to the supply of various logistics that may be in high demand in Ghanaian prisons.
4. Organizing social and entertainment programmes in Ghanaian prisons to make inmates feel attached to society.
5. Play advocacy role on behalf prison inmates on issues that affect their socio-economic status in the society.
